Despite their superior numbers and military strength, they lacked the inner fortitude that comes from standing on the side of dharma (righteousness). The Pandavas exemplified this fearlessness through their confidence in Krishna, which manifested as a powerful presence that intimidated their opponents.

When our hearts are aligned with truth and dharma, we can face challenges with steady determination. Conversely, when we harbor guilt or know we stand on shaky moral ground, even small challenges can seem overwhelming. In the greater narrative of the Bhagavad Gita, this verse serves as a prelude to the moral crisis Arjuna is about to face. While at this moment, the Pandavas appear confident and the Kauravas fearful, soon Arjuna himself will experience doubt and despair.
